Mahindra XUV 700 2021

The wait finally ends!

After seeing innumerable spy shots and teasers, we finally get to see the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 in its flesh! The picture seems to be taken at Mahindra’s Chakan plant where it seems to testing for some components. This seems to be a prototype model going by the mismatched ORVM. Interestingly, the SUV can be seen with a second fuel tank inlet on its front fender. This is similar to many electric cars which have their charging port on the front fender. The prototype also carries the smart folding door handles which Mahindra recently teased.

Mahindra XUV700 Engine and Transmission: Mahindra will provide the XUV700 with the Thar’s petrol and diesel engines, although tuned for more output. In the Thar, the 2-litre turbo-petrol unit makes 150PS and up to 320Nm, while the 2.2-litre diesel is good for 130PS and 300Nm. Mahindra is expected to offer the SUV with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A segment-first optional all-wheel drive (AWD) will also be available.
